Subject: Interesting, intricate mystery
This entry in the "Falcon" franchise has a well-plotted story line with some exciting twists. The lead actor isn't the greatest, but it's an interesting story, worth watching.

I enjoyed seeing character actors Roscoe Karns (always fun) and Tom Kennedy, who I always think of as "Gahagan," Glenda Farrell's foil from the Torchy Blane movies.

One reviewer mentioned the Studebaker seen in the movie. I also enjoyed seeing some of the architecture in old Hollywood. Can you remember when a bowling alley merited a palace-like structure like the one in the movie?

All in all, an enjoyable flick.

Subject: A Fairly Entertaining "Falcon" Movie
An entertaining "Falcon" movie. It is unlike the movies with Tom Conway or George Sanders, however, it does hold my attention. It takes some focus or attention to follow the different plot lines in order to understand the ending.

The copyrights of Appointment with Murder (1948) and SEARCH FOR DANGER (1949) were renewed. It seems that Devil's Cargo is the only Falcon film in the public domain, so no other Falcon movies will be uploaded here.

Subject: Thanks to the uploader
I've just view this movie (one of three Falcon movies with John Calvert made by Film Classics) and even if this movies is not in the same league as the Falcon movies made by RKO (with Georges Sanders and later on by Tom Conway), Devil's Cargo is a really fine peace of Poverty Row entertainment. I'd like to see the other two Falcon movies starring John Calvert, "Search for Danger" and "Appointment with Murder". Hopefully the uploader of Devil's Cargo will be able to do it. Thanks

Subject: Detective or Magician?
Quite interesting storyline, adequate acting. One can see that this is not the first film with "The Falcon" as a hero and that the figure seems to be well established for audiences of the 40s.

What I did not find out was the reason for doing magic tricks, if it is also an established part of the history of the figure being a former professional magician or so.

And I agree with the previous reviewer about the dog.

Subject: Nothing Special
This is a light, mildly entertaining detective crime story. The star, John Calvert, does various magic tricks while talking to suspects, and chasing down information.

The detective drives a Studebaker of a model similar to one that our family had in my childhood, which I enjoyed seeing, and which brought back memories.

I downloaded the 539MB AVI file. There are a couple of audio dropouts and some chunks of frames missing here and there, but overall the quality is good.
